The Delaware Youth Chorale (DYC) provides young people from the Kent County area an opportunity to learn and perform fine choral music, in association with the Delaware Choral Society. DYC welcomes students from 3rd to 8th grades without audition. Formed in 2014, DYC provides local students with the opportunity to sing engaging, challenging choral music in a non-school setting. Under the direction of Heather Swartzentruber, our singers work on developing musical skills and vocal techniques and learn a range of music in a variety of languages.
Rehearsals run from 5pm-6:30pm each Tuesday at Holy Cross School in Dover.
In addition to singing with DCS, the DYC has performed at Barratt’s Chapel’s Lessons and Carols, for Dover’s Christmas Tree ceremony, opened 87er’s/Bluecoats games, and even sang at Carnegie Hall!
Dues are $20 per semester per child and are payable at the first rehearsal. For any questions, parents may email email@example.com
Interested in joining next season?
To protect the health and safety of our members and our audience, the DCS Board of Directors has decided not to go forward with the upcoming 2020 fall season. There will be no rehearsals nor concert in 2020. We are closely following the developments and guidelines of the American Choral Directors Association and the State of Delaware and will make a decision about the spring 2021 season before the end of this year. Please join our mailing list to receive important updates.
