Black Folders: For the performance, please make sure your music is contained within a black folder or binder. Some people have purchased choir folders, others have less expensive black 3-ring binders. If you own your score (which most of you do) you can take it to Staples or Windswept and have them put a black cover on it for you. They will also hole-punch it for you so it will fit in a 3-ring binder.

🤔Please consider joining the Board of Directors! We currently have a couple of vacancies that can be filled by immediate appointment. Additionally, a couple of terms will end on June 30th. We will be having elections to fill those spots in March. If you would like a copy of the DCS bylaws just reply to this email. I’ll be happy to send them. Board meetings aren’t just for the board. All paid DCS members are welcome to sit in on board meetings. If you want to check it out and see what being on the board might be like, come to a meeting! Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, prior to rehearsal. Our next board meeting will be Tuesday, March 10th at 5:45PM.

🆘WE ARE IN NEED OF A TREASURER, as Richard’s term will end June 30th. If you have bookkeeping skills, please consider this position. Richard will be more than happy to train you and help where he can. The treasurer’s job covers a lot of ground, but some duties can be delegated to others.

🎼Here is the rehearsal plan for the next 3 weeks:
February 25th: Sections #34, 35, 38, 42
March 3rd: Sections #1, 2, 5, 9, 10
March 10th: Sections #22, 23, 24, 29, 32

🎼One thing to be aware of in the Elijah score is that what might start out as a solo may include a few measures here and there of chorus. There’s a lot of interaction between the soloists and the chorus. Look through you scores carefully and identify where those parts are so you’re not caught by surprise.

⏳Please put these dates on your calendar:
Saturday, March 28th, 6-9PM – Final Rehearsal: It’s not our usual practice to rehearsal on Saturday evening, but this is the only time we can get the choir, soloists and orchestra together in the concert space.
Sunday, March 29th, 2:30 – Concert: This is the tentative call time. The concert will start at 4:30PM.

🌡Possible Cancellations Due to Weather: As I stated in last week’s email, winter weather is upon us and we don’t know what will happen until it happens. We will do our best to get any special messages out to you by 5PM, but, depending on the situation, it may be a little later. Please check your email and/or Facebook before you leave for rehearsal. Also, while we need as many singers as possible at every rehearsal, if you don’t think it’s safe to go out, don’t go. We want you to be safe.
