As you are all aware, the Governor has declared a State of Emergency. The COVID-19 virus has impacted the cancellation or postponement of several events across the nation and state. The Delaware Choral Society is committed to the health and safety of our members, contractors, and attendees. Therefore, we have made the decision to postpone the Elijah concert slated for March 29th. For DCS singers, all remaining rehearsals for this month are cancelled.

The DCS board is currently working to finalize a new date. While we do not have details yet, we feel it is important to get this information out to you as quickly as possible. Rest assured that our goal is to choose a date when people are comfortable attending, most likely in September with rehearsals restarting in August. Any tickets purchased for the March 29th date will be honored at our next concert. We will provide you with updated information as soon as the details are finalized.

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we work through this complex issue.

🤔Please consider joining the Board of Directors! We currently have a couple of vacancies that can be filled by immediate appointment. Additionally, a couple of terms will end on June 30th. We will be having elections to fill those spots in March. If you would like a copy of the DCS bylaws just ask! Board meetings aren’t just for the board. All paid DCS members are welcome to sit in on board meetings. If you want to check it out and see what being on the board might be like, come to a meeting! Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, prior to rehearsal. Our next board meeting will be Tuesday, April 14th.

🆘WE ARE IN NEED OF A TREASURER, as Richard’s term will end June 30th. If you have bookkeeping skills, please consider this position. Richard will be more than happy to train you and help where he can. The treasurer’s job covers a lot of ground, but some duties can be delegated to others.
