2014-s mozart requiem - smallApril 27, 2014: Requiem by W.A. Mozart – This concert features the debut of the Delaware Youth Chorale with director Heather Swartzentruber, the Delaware Choral Society Chamber Singers, an 18-piece orchestra and the following soloists: Britania Redington – soprano, Christopher Berg – countertenor, David Koh – tenor, and Brian Major – bass. Performed at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in downtown Dover under the direction of Dr. James Wilson with accompanist Sherry Roscoe.

This concert is dedicated to the memory of Henrietta Dumas who sang with the Delaware Choral Society from 1962 until her untimely death in December of 2013. We miss her greatly.

2015-s carmina burana - smallApril 19, 2015: Carmina Burana – Carl Orff’s masterpiece was the focal point of this very special concert presented at the Schwartz Center for the Arts under the direction of Dr. James Wilson. The choir was accompanied by Sherry Roscoe and Edgar Isaacs on two grand pianos and percussion by DSU Professor Stephen Tipping and DSU students Damien Bluto, Kyeem Dixon, Tahaj Jawkins and Coley Morris. Solos were provided by Baritone Brian Major, Soprano Marcelle McQuirk and Tenor Christopher Berg. Making the performance complete was the Delaware Youth Chorale led by director Heather Schwartzentruber.

This concert marked the debut of Siren Song by Emily Wolfson, winner of the first annual Delaware Collegiate Choral Composers Competition.

dcs fall2015 poster v1-smallDecember 13, 2015 – Earth Shall Ring: A collection of seasonal melodies from around the world accompanied by a variety of instruments under the direction of Dr. James Wilson delighted the audience at the Schwartz Center for the Arts. Anne Sullivan provided a heavenly harp, Sherry Roscoe accompanied on piano and Stephen Tipping and Eugene Nelson added percussion. Rounding out the musical support were DCS members on oboe, clarinet, recorder and guitars. The second half of this concert featured the integration of the Delaware Youth Chorale led by director Heather Schwartzentruber.
